At Colorado Glamping, that experience begins on 120 private acres in Elizabeth, Colorado. The ranch sits in an open prairie setting just outside Denver, with two distinct collections planned around quiet, comfort, and purpose.

Here are 10 things to know before choosing your next Colorado escape.

1. “Unique” should include the setting: not just the building

A memorable stay is shaped by what surrounds you.

At Colorado Glamping, the setting is a private ranch with open skies, native grasses, quiet trees, and room to slow down. You are not staying in a busy resort district or a crowded mountain corridor. Instead, the landscape gives you space to settle into the day at your own pace.

That matters whether you spend the afternoon outside, read in a hammock, watch the light change across the prairie, or simply listen to the quiet after dark.

The ranch is also home to the rescued equine herd supported by Journey with Equus, the nonprofit behind the property’s broader purpose.

Guests may also notice remarkable wildlife on the property, including birds of prey. Wildlife should always be observed quietly and respectfully from a distance.

2. Glamping near Denver does not have to mean mountain crowds

When people search for glamping near Denver, they often imagine a long drive into the mountains. That can be part of the appeal: but it is not the only option.

Colorado Glamping is located in Elizabeth, southeast of Denver, in a setting that feels removed without requiring a remote mountain journey. You can trade traffic, packed trailheads, and resort congestion for open prairie, wide skies, and a more personal sense of place.

The experience is especially well suited to a short escape, a milestone weekend, or a few quiet days when you want to leave the city behind without spending the entire day getting there.

3. There are two collections, not one standard cabin experience

Colorado Glamping is being developed around two distinct ways to stay:

The collections share the same ranch and mission, but they are designed to feel different.

Sanctuary is the softer, more established stay: canvas, quiet, and a slower rhythm on a private 120-acre horse sanctuary near Elizabeth. SoulFire is being developed as a more architectural collection, with distinctive structures and additional private amenities planned for future releases.

The distinction is important: Sanctuary is bookable now in released accommodations, while SoulFire is still underway. Specific amenities vary by accommodation.

4. Adults-only changes the pace of a getaway

Colorado Glamping’s collections are designed for adults seeking a quieter kind of time away.

That may mean a weekend with your partner, a solo reset, a birthday, or a conversation that deserves more room than a restaurant table can provide. Adults-only does not mean formal or overly polished. It simply helps preserve the atmosphere: calm, unhurried, and intentionally small in scale.

The result is a stay built around what you can notice when there is less competing for your attention: the glow of a propane fire table, the sound of wind through the trees, or the sky above your tent after sunset.

5. Canvas tents can offer comfort without losing the feeling of the outdoors

Luxury glamping works best when it keeps the connection to the outdoors while removing the parts that make a more traditional camping experience less comfortable.

The Sanctuary Collection’s canvas accommodations are designed for that balance. In the current Private 120-Acre Horse Sanctuary stay, that means an adults-only, reservation-only experience on a private 120-acre horse sanctuary near Elizabeth with a 16-foot boho-style bell tent, a queen bed with premium linens, solar-powered electricity, a refrigerator, a fan, Keurig coffee and tea amenities, complimentary locally roasted beverages, a welcome bottle of locally brewed kombucha, a private hammock, a propane fire table, and a propane grill. A heater is also provided during the cooler winter months.

The welcome refreshments add a thoughtful local note without overcomplicating the stay. Colorado Glamping features coffee from Dancing Jaguar Coffee, roasted in Kiowa, Colorado by Erika Duke and Joe, and sourced in part from Erika’s family farm, Finca San Isidro in Copán Ruinas, Honduras. Their story is rooted in a multigenerational family coffee tradition, specialty coffee, sustainable and ecofriendly farming, biodiversity, fair-trade values, and women’s empowerment. Guests also receive an exceptional locally brewed kombucha as part of the welcome experience.

One current Sanctuary stay is set up for quiet, practical comfort rather than excess. Guests can settle into the hammock, watch the sunset, look for wildlife, and stay out for stargazing, while quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM help preserve the pace of the ranch. Dogs are allowed, with pet-approved accommodations available, and pet-free accommodations are also available for guests who prefer them. For the current Hipcamp bell-tent listing, dogs are welcome with a pet fee and leash requirement. Prebooked horse and donkey experiences are also available through Journey with Equus, but they must be arranged in advance and are separate from the adults-only overnight stay.

6. Stargazing can be part of the architecture

Some unique stays are memorable because of what they allow you to see.

The planned Starlight Hollow accommodation is a Lotus Belle tent with a stargazing window built into the roof. It is an upcoming accommodation, not a current stay. It is also planned to feature a magical Moroccan-style interior with a handmade, hand-painted headboard sourced directly from Morocco. The concept is simple: let the sky remain part of the room, especially during the quiet minutes before sleep. The current Sanctuary stay already makes room for sunsets, wildlife viewing, and stargazing, though specific amenities vary by accommodation.

Starlight Hollow is labeled as coming soon, not as a currently bookable accommodation. Timing and final details may change as development continues.

That distinction is part of how we communicate about the ranch. We want you to know what is available today, what is underway, and what remains a future possibility. For special occasions, Colorado Glamping works exclusively with Dionysus Designs for arrangements such as birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, and “just because” celebrations. Those arrangements are separate from lodging and depend on advance coordination.

7. SoulFire is designed for guests who want something more distinctive

The planned SoulFire Collection takes a different approach to Colorado luxury glamping.

Its first release centers on Conestoga-style wagons: warm, compact accommodations with a strong sense of character. Future candidate styles include A-frames and mirror houses, each selected to create a different relationship with the surrounding landscape.

Private hot tubs and saunas are planned across future SoulFire releases. They are not being represented as amenities available in every current stay.

The full SoulFire guest launch is planned for Spring 2027. The first Conestoga-style wagon may welcome guests as early as Fall 2026, subject to construction, permitting, vendors, weather, and final readiness.

8. Not every image you see represents a finished accommodation

When a hospitality collection is being built, visual references help communicate the direction. But a concept image is not the same as a finished space.

A stay at Colorado Glamping is connected to Journey with Equus, a nonprofit caring for more than 100 rescued horses and other equines through equine-partnered wellness programs.

That mission is not added as a separate slogan. It is part of why the ranch exists.

Every stay directly supports the care of the rescued herd and the sanctuary animals cared for through Journey with Equus. You can enjoy time away while knowing your booking contributes to a place where rescued horses are cared for and where people can experience the benefits of meaningful connection with them.
